This grant supports experienced medical researchers with an international reputation from Canterbury to visit research units in NZ or overseas for the purpose of the interchange of information, ideas or skills in their research field or to support a visit to Canterbury by selected medical research experts with an international reputation to advise or to exchange information, ideas or skills with medical researchers, research units or departments in Canterbury. This grant should not be used to attend scientific conferences. Refer to [#155,Travel Grant].The maximum level of funding is $4,000. Applicants are expected to meet not less than 25% of the total estimated costs. Duration of awards - normally 1-4 weeks.Those eligible for awards may be either medically or non-medically qualified but must be at senior level and involved in medical/health research:
* either through working in the Universities of Otago, Canterbury or Lincoln, Canterbury Crown Health Enterprises, or an acknowledged medical research organisation;
OR
* if invited from elsewhere in New Zealand or abroad, they must be acceptable as distinguished researchers who would benefit some specific area of research in Canterbury.
The Canterbury Medical Research Foundation undertakes to collect, store and use the information contained in this application to select the successful applicant for the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation Fellowship. It will be used for no other purpose.
